IT ALL STARTED WITH OUR OWN ‘FOOD FAILS’ ABROAD

Hi! We’re Kamila and Goksel — an international couple who bonded over a shared love for food, travel, and discovering how people really live through what they eat.

After living in different countries and traveling a lot, we realized something pretty quickly: you can’t truly understand a place without understanding its food. The best memories we brought home weren’t from famous attractions, but from small local spots, family-run places, and meals that came with stories. But finding those places wasn’t always easy. More than once, we followed great online reviews and still ended up somewhere that felt made for tourists rather than locals. The more popular a place was, the less authentic it often felt. We kept thinking, “There has to be a better way to experience a country than this.” And every time, the best experiences happened when a local showed us where they personally like to eat.

That’s where the idea for Delicious Poland came from. We thought: what if we could be that local friend for visitors coming to Poland? Show them the places we truly love, the flavors we grew up with, and the food that tells the real story of our culture. So we started small, just the two of us, sharing our favorite spots and stories. Over time, with the help of our foodie friends and amazing local guides, Delicious Poland grew into tours in several cities across the country.

For nearly 10 years, we personally guided the tours ourselves — meeting guests every day, sharing stories, and showing people our favorite places face to face. As the company grew, our roles naturally started to change.

These days, Kamila runs the daily operations, stays in touch with guests, makes sure you find your guide at the meeting point, and will pick up the phone when you’re running late! She also works closely with our restaurant partners and creates extra things like recipes, cookbooks, and online cooking experiences. It brings her so much joy to carefully choose every stop, work only with places we genuinely believe in, and make sure every guest feels like they’re being shown around by someone who truly cares.

Goksel is now focusing on our newest dream — building a bakery inspired by the traditional flavors we love.

What started as our own frustration while traveling turned into something we’re incredibly proud of — helping people experience Poland through real food, real places, and real stories.
